At-Tariq. Performance by Tarek Atoui

The second performance by Tarek Atoui at the Biennale presents a revisited version of At-Tariq, an exhibition and sound piece originally produced by TBA21. First shown in Córdoba in 2022 and later at the Thyssen Museum in 2025, At-Tariq pays homage to the traditional and rural musics of the Arab world.For its presentation at the Bukhara Biennale, the work turns toward the Amazigh music of the Atlas Mountains in Morocco. This solo version is electronic in nature, employing Atoui’s self-built controllers and software for improvisation and live performance.
